Just a thought…
I’ve realized that when I am feeling upset or down on myself, I tend to watch documentaries about people less fortunate than me. In a strange way, it makes me feel better for the moment. Is this wrong? Possibly, but it works. However, in a few hours, I fall right back into the mood that I was in previously. My selfishness comes back full force, and the world, once again, revolves around me. I think when I get into that self centered state of mind, every unsavory feeling I experience is intensified. When I turn my attention to others, and get my mind off of myself and my own issues, everything I am going through seems to become easier to deal with.
